This workshop provides participants with an overall understanding of process control as well as the opportunity to improve performance in a plant. The course covers the basics of a control loop and its elements, then moves onto the theory behind a PID controller, and the implementation of various control strategies. A practical approach in identifying problems in control loops is demonstrated along with guidance on tuning, sizing, hysteresis, stiction, and non-linearity. Participants will learn best practices when it comes to bad actor loops.
